Roger Sorkin

Roger Sorkin — Founder & Executive Director

Roger Sorkin is an award-winning producer, writer, editor, and director of mission-driven films designed to strengthen civilizational security. Prior to founding ARP, Roger consulted with and created documentary and dramatic films for a wide range of nonprofit, academic and government institutions, including the UN World Food Programme, U.S. Global Leadership Campaign, USAID, NATO, Flex Your Rights Foundation, American Cancer Society, and many others. He has taught energy and environmental communication at the Fordham University Gabelli School of Business, and is a featured speaker to diverse audiences across government, academia, NGOs, faith groups, trade associations and others. Roger is a fellow with the Truman National Security Project, and he has served on the Climate and Security Working Group at the Center for Climate and Security, and on the Managed Retreat Expert Group with the American Society of Adaptation Professionals. He received a B.A. in anthropology from the Johns Hopkins University in 1993, then worked as a public radio journalist and producer before receiving an M.A. in communication from Stanford University in 2000. He began his career in TV and film on projects for National Geographic, Frontline, and Bill Moyers in Washington, D.C.

MJ Anderson

MJ Anderson — Educational Resources Manager

MJ Anderson is a Program Manager for the Midwest Tribal Energy Resources Association working with the Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Office investigating barriers to solar deployment for Tribes. After graduating from the Arizona State University, MJ began working for MTERA and the American Resilience project as a resource manager. She works with Tribes, utility representatives, and regulator representatives to foster better working relationships, analyze policy, and coordinates events such as listening sessions, conferences, and webinars. MJ is passionate about policy communication and is pursuing a Masters of Advanced International Affairs focused on energy policy and security.

Hope Hall

Hope Hall — Filmmaker, Cinematographer, and Photographer

Hope Hall is a documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, and photographer. Her short films have been selected for over 40 film festivals worldwide and have received numerous awards, including at Sundance. She has a BA from UC Berkeley and an MA from Stanford, and is a proud graduate of the Independent Studio Program at the Whitney Museum. From May 2011 onward, she was President Obama's Principal Videographer at the White House in the Office of Digital Strategy, with both the position and the office being a creation of this President. After working on "By the People" by Amy Rice and Alicia Sams, which followed then-Senator Obama's trajectory into candidacy, she joined the '08 campaign's now legendary New Media team as a staff filmmaker, telling the story from the campaign trail and making over 40 videos, and then the Presidential Transition Team to help draft the infrastructure for the first new media President.

Ben Hillman

Ben Hillman — Graphic Designer & Animator

Ben Hillman helps ARP synthesize complex facts and figures into memorable graphic and animated representations. Ben is a filmmaker, designer, author and illustrator. His wide-ranging career has led him to work on creative projects across the media spectrum. He graduated with highest honors from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He has written and directed award-winning independent short films screened in festivals around the world and broadcast on MTV, PBS, La Sept Arte and Kanal 4. Ben has created work for a range of projects from earthquake awareness for Goldman Sachs to animations for Spike Lee. He is also the creator of a popular series of pictorial science books for children published by Scholastic.

Nicole C. Scott

Nicole C. Scott - Founder of Streative Digital

Nicole C. Scott is a seasoned Digital Strategist with a rich background spanning over two decades in the entertainment and media industry, Nicole brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the forefront of online communications strategies.

As the driving force behind Streative Digital, Nicole seamlessly integrates technical, creative, managerial, and analytical skill sets to elevate digital footprints through a comprehensive approach. Specializing in search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), social media optimization (SMO), and social media marketing (SMM), she is adept at implementing innovative inbound marketing methods.

Nicole has successfully collaborated on diverse projects, ranging from non-profits and start-ups to small businesses and agencies with nationally recognized brands. Noteworthy achievements include her role in award-winning documentary films such as “Ai Weiwei: Yours Truly”and "Pasang: In the Shadow of Everest." Currently aligned with the American Resilience Project, Nicole also collaborates with esteemed production houses such as Bray’s Run Productions in Seattle,and o Boudart Productions (notable films include "Islands of Life," "Walking In Two Worlds," "Paying The Price For Peace, and A Concerned Citizen”).

Beyond her professional endeavors, Nicole is dedicated to fostering growth within the filmmaking community. She played a pivotal role in orchestrating successful crowd-sourced fundraising campaigns for Karen Everett of New Doc Editing for the film American Visionary: The Story of Barbara Marx Hubbard, and for Haydn Reiss of Zinc films for the documentary, Robert Bly: A Thousand Years of Joy.

Nicole's passion for the cinematic arts led her to earn a B.A. degree in Cinema with honors from San Francisco State University, and she proudly holds membership with Women in Media and the Golden Key International Honor Society. Her commitment to excellence and innovation continues to shape the landscape of digital strategy, leaving an indelible mark on every project she undertakes.

Elena Krieger

Elena Krieger — Science Advisor

Elena Krieger is the director of the Clean Energy Program at Physicians, Scientists and Engineers for Healthy Energy, a non-profit research institute in Oakland which works to bring science to energy policy. She researches strategies to accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies while simultaneously realizing health, environment, equity and resilience benefits during the clean energy transition. Elena sits on the board of the Carbon Lighthouse Association, a carbon mitigation non-profit in San Francisco. She received her PhD in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University, where her research focused on energy storage for renewable resources, and she holds an AB in Physics and Astronomy & Astrophysics from Harvard University.

Joseph Skinner

Joseph Skinner — Assistant Editor

Joseph Skinner is an audio and video editor. He currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia as an independent freelancer. Joseph graduated from Xavier University in Ohio in 2020 where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Innovation Film and Television. In 2021, Joseph won a Student Production Emmy from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television and Arts and Science for Audio & Sound of an original creation and self-produced short film. His interest in film began when he was featured in an HBO documentary for children with learning disabilities called “I Can’t Do This, But I Can Do That”. That documentary started his journey in film production. Now, Joseph seeks to share and explore the stories of others through his skills in film.
